INVENTORY

Art depots are the secret treasure chambers of museums: places where the past is preserved and the present is filtered. As the flip side of exhibition spaces, they are protected areas to which only a few have access. But over the decades, exhibition remnants, packaging materials, and broken frames accumulate. After a successful start last year, Haus Coburg will once again take a break from exhibition operations in February 2026 to work in the storage rooms. We want to continue updating work data, checking locations, creating image files, and advancing our digital collection management. This year, we have again invited our Friends of Haus Coburg e.V. to support us in this endeavor. In addition to meticulously checking inventory lists, we hope to make surprising finds, come across long-lost treasures, and make new discoveries that will tell us more about the history of art at Haus Coburg.
