INVENTUR

Art storage facilities are the secret treasure chambers of museums. Places where the past is preserved and the present is filtered. As the flip side of exhibition spaces, they are protected areas to which only a few people have access. But over the decades, exhibition remnants, packaging materials, and broken frames accumulate. For three weeks, Haus Coburg is taking a break from exhibition operations and working in the storage rooms. We want to update work data, check locations, create image files, and take a first big step toward digital collection management. We have invited our Freundeskreis Haus Coburg e.V., to support us, and once a week we open our doors for tours. In addition to meticulously checking inventory lists, we hope to make surprising discoveries, find treasures thought to be lost, and make new discoveries that tell us more about the history of art at Haus Coburg.
